Nexus 9000 Design in NX-OS mode

Hi,

Cisco mostly describe spine leaf design when they are talking about ACI (N9K). I would like to use a spine leaf design on the N9K series in NX-OS mode. Is this supported? Are there reference networks/design that describes this spine leaf design in NX-OS mode on N9K or do I need to use the classical vPC design?

I know that a spine-leaf design (Fabric Path or DFA) exist on N7K which is not supported on N9K.

I also notice that the only spine in N9K3 will be a ACI spine which can not used in NX-OS mode. This means I should at least use a N9K5 chassis as spine.

Regards

Jan
