Core issue
This issue is due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsg87808.
This issue occurs if the snmp-server commands (like snmp-server enable and snmp-server community etc) are configured. In a rare corner case, the configuration can fail to save to flash and displays this error message:
pix#write memory
Cryptochecksum: ee8f5816 e1ce1ad7 83151424 f1a3b6fc %Error
reading system:/running-config (Configuration line too long)
Error executing command [FAILED]
This issue most often occurs on these PIX/ASA firewall versions:
Resolution
For a temporary workaround:
Remove the snmp-server commands from the configuration
pix(config)#no snmp-server <>
In order to completely resolve this issue, upgrade to PIX/ASA firewall version 7.2(2.2) and above.
Go to Cisco Downloads in order to download latest version of the PIX/ASA firewall.
