Hello,
I need 12TB in total on my NSS324. The current firmware is 1.5.0, the most recent which annonce SATA II 3TB support in september 2011.
What is the bigger hard drive supported today ?
Can I have four 4TB hard drive in Raid5 or should I limit myself to four 3TB hard drives in Raid0 (Stripping) ?
Thank you in advance

1.5.0 is the latest F/W Release. and the Max Capacity is 8TB (4 2TB drives).

Hello,
I'm an engineer with the Small Business Support Center and I work directly with the NSS300 series.
I know for a fact that on the firmware 1.5.0 you are able to work with 3TB hard drives just fine.
I was trying to find any official information that will support this claim and I found the Approved Vendor List for 2011 (same year as the firmware) which list two sets of drives that are supported with capacity of 3.0 TB.
Here is the info:
Hitachi Deskstar 3.0 TB UA723030ALA640
3.0 TB DS5C3030ALA630

I also know that you can upgrade the device to the QNAP firmware and it should allow you support for 4TB drives, but I cannot guarantee it as we don't support that software.
Here is the info on how to perform the upgrade to the QNAP firmware:

I hope this helps
