In response to the bug described at: https://bst.cisco.com/quickview/bug/CSCwi16752
The issue also occurs with the latest version 3.4.0.17. Switch model CBS350-12XS. The bug severity is set to Moderate, however, the CLI and GUI freeze for 10 minutes. It also starts to drop connections in all ports if you do a "show inventory".

Since the issue persists even in the latest firmware 3.4.0.17, the best course is to escalate with Cisco TAC for a possible patch or workaround. Meanwhile, avoid running commands triggering the freeze, such as "show inventory," to minimize disruption. Keep monitoring Cisco’s bug tracker for updates on fixes.

1. In the Software Download page, put a comment associated to the firmware warning people of this bug so they won't make the same mistake.
2. Contact Cisco TAC. One of the function of the i2c chip is to interrogate the component inside the switch if it is authentic or not. If the i2c chip is faulty (happened to a lot of Catalyst 2960S/2960X, 6840/6880 switches) or the i2c chip has detected that the switch is no longer authentic, RMA is the only answer.
