Poor perfomance with SG300 switches

Hi,

we appear to be having some latent ping responses from some of our SG300 switches.  My understanding is that these switches will treat and handle ICMP on a "Best Efforts" basis and that on a busy network, or indeed a busy networking period, we can expect to experience latent responses to ICMP?

If this is correct can anyone point me to some technical papers detailing this?

Also is there any better way of gathering switch performance stats from these SMB models as the GUI does seem to be very restrictive?

Thanks in advance.

Its all depends and m,any factors need to consider to identify the issue,

Like example :

how is the Load on this Device? when the ping loss noticed, interface utilisation ?

can you show us some examples of Ping Loss (is this directly connected device ?)

what is the CPU consumed at that time? how many devices connected, what part of the network this switch ? is this main switch which processes all your Core operations?

Where are you pinging to source and destination example will help to identify the issue?

BB
