Hi All
I have 3 x SG500-52P switches stacked.
Vlan 1 is data and Vlan 3 is voice
Port to Vlan membership is 1UP and 3T
Port security is disabled
The issue I have is that I can have either a phone or a PC plugged into a port but not both. If I plug in both then the phone works and the PC gets an IP address (Broadcast traffic) but PC cannot browse the network.
Any ideas
Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin, what IP addresses are the phones and computers receiving? What phone model number are you using? What is the DHCP server? What source vlan do you try to access a resource on what destination vlan?

Hi Tom
The phones receive an IP address of 10.10.3.0/24 and the computers receive an IP address of 10.10.0.0/24.
The phones are Avaya 9611G.
DHCP for phones is done by Avaya PBX and DHCP for computers is done by Windows server. (The correct ip address is given to both phones and computers)
My source and destination is on the same Vlan. (No Vlan routing required)

Thanks, so if you put a computer on a port vlan 1 untagged and another computer on a port vlan 1 untagged, does anything work?

Hi Tom
The setup is phone on port 1 and then PC plugged into phone. So the PC and phone share the same port (standard IP hone setup).
The phone is able to work but PC only gets an ip and the no other traffic will pass

I understand how it is set up, it was not the question.
If you connect the computer to a port vlan 1 untagged and another computer to a port vlan 1 untagged, everything works fine?

Hi Tom
Sorry I misunderstood your question. I have not tested that but did test PC on its own in port 1 and this worked, then phone in port 1 which worked then both phone and PC in port 1 where only phone worked.
The thing that puzzles me is why would the PC get an IP address and then traffic is blocked after that.

Kevin, I'm not sure it is a switch issue. I guess can dot the I's and cross the T's. Make sure the switch is on the latest firmware, double check the port config for 1u,3t.
On the phone ensure that the pc port is enabled, ensure the operational vlan is 3 while pc port vlan is 1 and enabled. Swap out wires as well.
May not be a bad idea to swap out phones to help nix the possibility of a faulty phone component.

Hi Tom
This is a late response.
The fault was with the switch and it was the smart port setting conflicting with what was manually configured.
