Hello,

My Cisco switch keeps sending the following syslog:

%PARSER-3-URLOPENFAIL: cannot open file for redirection 'Timed out'

Does anybody know what it means and what should I do?

This log entry indicates that your switch fails to send a file to a remote host.

Did you configure your Cisco to "redirect" an output of a command to a remote file server?

if this error persists it is most likely caused by a problem in our routing or firewall configuration

There is something that is being redirected to a remote address from the switch, maybe a config backup or something that is timing out.

Run the command show run | include redirect it should show you if you have any redirects configured on the switch and if so that is likely the culprit. It is probably a stale tftp server address or something.
