Hi
I am new to this world of switching and routing and need some assistance and setting this up.
please find attached diagram and the routes for Router A and Switch A
and advise what configuration required on SwitchB to be connected directly to SwitchA
switchB should be in subnet 172.22.0.0 and host connected to this switch should get an ip address fron 172.22.0.0 subnet
Thanks

Can you supply the actual interface configurations of the switch and router on the A side?

as the RouterA is a third party device I do not have access to it

That's all the info need, thanks.
Another question:
1. What is the gateway on the devices connected to switch B, 172.22.254.250 or 172.22.254.254?
If the devices point to the switch as there gateway then you just need to create a Layer-3 link between the switches. And make sure that you have a static route or routing protocol running between them.
If the devices use the router as the gateway, then you have 2 options. Move the IP from Router B to Switch B, and then create a layer 3 link between the switches. Of create the VLAN on switch B on Switch A and move the IP address from Router B to Switch A.
I wouldn't recommend moving the Router B ip address to the other side of the link due to all of the layer 2 traffic that would have to be sent (ie. ARP, broadcasts, etc.). But it is an option.

What is the gateway on the devices connected to switch B, 172.22.254.250 or 172.22.254.254?
172.22.254.254 routerB which is going to be removed is the gateway
but this router 172.22.254.254 is pointing back to 172.16.254.254 RouterA which has all the WAN routes
so what needs to be done?
Thanks
