Connection between IOS and ROMMON version.

Hi,

I have a C6807-XL switch and although the IOS version is latest I am trying to understand if the ROMMON version needs to be upgraded. Is there a documentation that would help me understand if there is a compatibility between ROMMON and IOS versions.

Current IOS Version: 15.5(1)SY7
Current ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.2(50r) SYS3

I have found the below release documentation for IOS and ROMMON but its not helping me.
1) IOS: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/ios/15-5SY/release_notes/release_notes_15_5_SY.html
2) ROMMON: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/rommon/sup2t_sup6t_rommon.html#pgfId-43916

Thanks,
Amey

I have 6840 and Sup2T on 15.5(1)SY10 and I have never upgraded the ROMMON.

What the ROMMON version on it ?

The same ROMMON version the supervisor came with.

Think of it this way:  If the Supervisor Card is already running 15.5(1)SY7 without a ROMMON upgrade, going to 15.5(1)SY10, without a ROMMON upgrade, is FINE.

Sure agree with @Leo Laohoo - not that must - but if required to upgrade release notes going to be mentioned in that.

Cannot find anything related to ROMMON and IOS in the release notes, I put the release noted at the top and it does not have that information.
