Unable to power some APs with PoE+

Hey there

I currently use second hand Cisco 2960S switches (full ref: C2960S-24PS-L).

According to the Data Sheet, they are 802.3at-compliant, meaning I can use them to power up 30W devices.

I purchased multiple Netgear APs, which are PoE+ enabled and should be perfectly powered-up by the switches.

However, when I plug them into my switches, I got a « Insufficient Power » error. The AP seems to believe it's connected to a 802.3af port.

How can I force a port to be 802.3at and make my APs work as intended?

I've connected those AP to a Sophos XGS126 firewall with two PoE+ port, and the APs boots up with no errors, meaning the problem comes from the switches giving them the Power.

Run lldp in SW 

I think it issue here

I ran this command and I see my AP. And with show power inline, I see a power of 30W attributed to the port.

Can I see 

show inline power

 - Enable LLDP on the switch (overall) and or the ports for the APs

lldp is enabled globally on the switch (unless I need to do something else than lldp run?)

Hello @Ludofloria ,

you can check by yourself using

show lldp neighbors

it will tell you if LLDP is enabled, if enabled provides a list of LLDP neighbors listinng local an remote port-IDs

And my AP is rightfully detected as a WLAN Access Point

Reconnect AP and debug must appear.

I'm connected via telnet to the switch and I don't see any debug log.

Must I use the console port?

No friend 

Disconnect and reconnect AP 

Let see debug of inline appear
