Why do we required API? What is the purpose of API . I needs to understand it .

Because there are many things that you cannot configure any other way in CMS, for example, Call Bridge Groups, DTMF Profiles, configure the recording server in the Call Bridge, etc. Just to name a few.
Or if you want more than one TURN server, or LDAP sync, you can only configure more than one via API.
Also, most of the GUI configuration you do via Web Admin, only applies to that server, if you have a cluster of servers, you'd need to do the same config N number of times. The API config replicates via the DB clustering and you only need to configure it once.
I suggest you take a look at the API guide, and you'll notice all the parameters that you can configure with the various objects, that you do not see in the GUI or MMP.
