cisco codec integration with cucm

Hi guys. we have cisco sx20, sx60, c40, c90 codecs in infr. Right now they are registered on VCS and managed by TMS .  Is it possible to register them to both system VCS (h323) and CUCM (sip), kinda a dual registration so they will have both registration.

Where can i find this information ?

thank you

It's not possible to dual register endpoints to VCS and CUCM, it's not supported.  When registered to CUCM, H323 is disabled.

Hmm, I could register to both of them, picture is attached. But still need to test how it will work with that system and another system ...

The thing is on our side (CUCM) we want to connect to CMR cloud for webex, but also want to  keep capability to connect scheduled conferences from TMS and VCS side .

Although it is possible that you can do that, it's not supported by Cisco and they may tell you to remove one of the registrations if you contact TAC for support.

When the endpoint reboots and registers with CUCM, H323 will become disabled and is by design, dual registration is mentioned in the TC7 Release Notes:

When using CUCM provisioning, the endpoint cannot register to a VCS (SIP or H.323) at the same time. This use-case is not supported by Cisco. When CUCM provisioning is active, H.323 mode is disabled. Cisco recommends TelePresence customers to migrate from H.323 to SIP.

Is there any specific reason you don't want to (or can't) migrate all the endpoints to the single call control platform - that would make things much simpler to administer and support?

TMS can still manage and schedule endpoints that are registered on CUCM.

If you still want to keep both sets of equipment separate for some reason, you could create a SIP trunk between the CUCM and VCS and be able to call via that.
