Hello all,

Need to know for registering movi client with vcs required special license in vcs?

We have a vcs X6.1 and tms 13-ver., Iam trying to register movi client, in the advances setings had provided the vcs ip.

When trying to login with user id(windows) it sayd "login failed".

1) Do i need to use windows login on movi client?

2)Is any extra license require?

3)Can i discover movi on TMS?

Advice plz.

Thanks

Bobby

I would strongly suggest that you read up on the documentation:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11337/tsd_products_support_series_home.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps11328/tsd_products_support_series_home.html

Especially:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/tms/config_guide/Cisco_TMS_Provisioning_Deployment_Guide_13-0.pdf

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/endpoint/movi/admin_guide/JabberVideo_Admin_Guide_4-4.pdf

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Basic_Configuration_Cisco_VCS_Control_with_Cisco_VCS_Expressway_Deployment_Guide_X7-0.pdf

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/vcs/admin_guide/Cisco_VCS_Administrator_Guide_X6-1.pdf

I would recomend upgrading the VCS to X7.1 and use JabberVideo 4.4 and TMS>=13.1.2

1) no, but its possible to use win auth (at least with X7 and it has to be configured)

2) not to register, but at least one vcs (cluster) needs to have the device provisioning key and the TMS needs the Movi keys

3) could you explain what you mean by "discover"?

I would strongly advise you to read the manuals, they nicely describe what you have to do.

Bobby,

Let me respond to your questions,

1)Do I need to use windows login on movi client?

You can have your movi users authenticate either:

1.-By using their AD credentials (This will require a VCS server with at least 6.1 version in it to be joined to your domain)

2.-By using credential created manually in a TMS server that replicates to a VCS server

3.-By using credential created manually in a VCS server (In the event that you do not have a TMS server in your enviroment)

2)Is any extra licenses require?

-You will have to have at least a device provisioning key on a VCS server

-You will have to have the proper Cisco Telepresence Movi count license on a TMS Server (Only If you are planning to provisioned your movi users via TMS)

3)Can you discover movi on TMS?

Can you clarify this please,
