MPS 800 J4.6 Media Card Alarm

We have a MPS 800 with 3 Media Cards. When we initiate a call the first media card status shows a "red stop sign" and an alarm indicator is seen on the front of the card. Once the call is ended the alarm goes away. Any ideas? I have the syslog on, but nothing obvious is seen nor is a log event stored in the eventlogs.

Version J4.6

Do you have an actual issue or do you just not like the red light?

Not, sure how the wanted behavior should look like. At least strange that you didnot see any errors.

Mabe enabling debugging shows you more.

Is it IP or ISDN calls?

Did you try power cycle and to carefully remove the cards (would power the unit of for that)

and reinstall them again?

Does the error follow the card, like if you swap the cards (think that should be possible).

If you have a valid service contract (not sure if there are any left ;-) think about contactig Cisco TAC.

Besides that I would recomend you to look at the Cisco Telepresence server or the 5300MCUs

Martin\Wayne,

Thanks for the responses. Turns out that the media card was bad :/

As Martin has suggested above, I'd try reseating, or moving the cards around to see if that helps, or if the issue follows the card.

There's also a slighly newer version of the software available for the MPS, version J4.7 which includes some bug fixes which may or may not help with your issue.
