TMS Phonebook Provisioning Source AD

Good Morning,

i have one question or problem with the Phonebook on the TMS Server.

It doesn't matter whether  sourch provisioinng or ad sourche take it. I get only 3 entries instead of 15 entries

What could it be the problem? The connection with AD is ok, because i get 3 entries of the 15 users.

In the Phoenbook Sourch i saw all 15 Users, but on the manage phonebook i saw only 3.

THX for your ideas

VCS's Version= 7.2.1

TMS Version= 13.2.1

Hi Rasim

In the phonebook source do you see any contact methods there? Are your "Video Address Pattern" typed in for the users or only the Device URI pattern?

Are findme disabled?

It might be that you are importing the device URI's which means that users have to log in first before they become visible in the phonebook.

Hi Magnus,

i see all 15 users in the phonebooksource, but if i create a manage phonebook, i saw only 3 of the 15.

i create only Device URI pattern´without findme

Hi

If you are not using findme go to Admin tools --> configuration --> Provisioning Extension Settings and disable findme there.

Then type the Video Address Pattern the same as the Device URI pattern. Then the phonebook entries should be populated after that. Since if you only have the device URI pattern the user needs to have a device to get an address and the user only gets a device once he logs in.

/Magnus

Video Address Pattern: {first_name}.{last_name}@company.com

Device Address Pattern:{first_name}.{last_name}.{device.model}@company.com

I see now all users in the Manage Phonebooks, but if i search one user who was or is registered (movi), i cannot see it in the phone book, only certain users

Hi

Since you are not using FindMe you don't need to have the {device.model} placeholder unless you are provisioning EX units and Jabber units. If you are only provisioning Jabber then you can keep both Device URI and Video Address Pattern like this: {first_name}.{last_name}@company.com

Since if you are not using findme, and when you login with Movi the address is {first_name}.{last_name}.{device.model}@company.com that the client is registering with you are not going to reach the Movi client with this: {first_name}.{last_name}@company.com for that you need findme which is the purpose of findme..

Try to do a full synchronization on the VCS since the phonebook synchs every 12 hours by default, so that might be it if you have not already done it?

HI,

OK, i took the {first_name}.{last_name}.{device.model}@company.com because, i want to register Jabber for ipad and movi with the same user. On the basic of the devicemodel, I see about which device the user is registered like firstname.lastname.movi@company.com or firstname.lastname.jabbertablet@company.com

Hi

Which means you have multiple devices. However the Video Address Pattern is the findme URI and does not resolve the devices. I thought you where only provisioning one device. This means that the users have to log in to get a device attached to the user (and then a device URI), then the phonebook needs to synch, and you should see the addresses.

I would not recommend to do it the way I first suggested if you are provisioning two types or more of devices.

/Magnus

How do you recommend,if you have an AD Group and you want to login with User:peter.test with iPad or MOVI. I could not expect to create own AD Group for iPads. Based on with the firstname.lastname.devicemodell

I can authenticate and login about AD with the User:Peter and the template on the TMS Server chose and decide about the  firstname.lastname.devicemodell which device are now registered. I did and works fine without findme. i can login in same time with movi and ipad with the same User: peter.test and it shows on the vcs control peter.test.movi@company.com and peter.test.jabbertablet@company.com and they are reachable and initiate call too.

The only one issue is the phonebook on the movi and jabbertablet. Not all Users are displayed

Hi

What you are saying is perfectly fine.

So with regards to the phonebook issue, I will try to explain it.

Device URI:

iPad:peter.test.jabbertablet@company.com

Jabber:peter.test.movi@company.com

These can be registered at the same time and that is fine, but the thing is that the users have to log in first to create this address URI since its based on the devices. So when I log in to my jabber:

I get a new device added to my account which is movi.

Once this has been created the phonebook will import the contact method movi.magnus.ohm@eutss.int and add it to my name. Since I now have an address it can be imported to TMS from the provisioning source and my name will be visible in the phonebook since I have an address. Users with no addresses does not show up in the phonebook obviously (even if the username is showing in the source it also needs a contact method) So when I login with my iPad the contact method will be added the same way. Now my phonebook entry would show up 2 entries in the phonebook one for my Movi and one for My iPad after the phonebook synch.

For users that have not logged in yet with a unique device will not show in the phonebook yet.

With FindMe users wont have to login since there is one universal address that resolves to all of the other addresses jabbertablet and movi and this is decided on beforehand which address it should try to reach first which is usually the movi client. So this is the Video Address pattern. Once this is added to the user it will automatically be added to the phonebook, regardless and all the users will show up after a synch. But for those who have not logged in yet will not be reachable of course if they have not logged in yet or are offline for some other reasons.

The devices might still be imported so that you see "findme address", "device address 1", "device address 2" etc. but this can be turned off so you only see the one address.

I hope this explained it.
