COBRAS PDL stepped migration

hi, we are using cobras to migrate some test users from unity to unity connection . The existing subscribers are members of a pdl. Initially we only want to migrate 6 test users over as a pilot and wish to  including that pdl from the Unity system - will this only pull in the 6 users from the pdl -  what will happen when the rest of the users get migrated over - will there be a conflict to say the same pdl name already exists on the system and an option to update the pdl on connection with the remaining users being migrated ?

when you bring the 6 users over along with the public distribtuion list, that list will contain only those 6 users - during restore it will look for members by  alias and add only those it finds (it'll log a note about those it cannot).

later when you bring more users over you can include that DL for import again and it will be updated (during conflict resolution it will note that the DL will be updated, not created as new).  It will again attempt to resovle all the original members of the DL (at the time you took the backup) by alias and add those users it can find - COBRAS never removes members from a DL, only adds.

Each time you bring more users over that may affect the membership load of any of your DLs from the backup you'll want to update the DL membership information again by including them in the restore.

That checkbox is gray if there are no messgaes (or no messages marked secure) in the backup MDB file for messages - it runs thorugh all messages in all MDB files and if at least one is marked secure the checkbox is enabled - easy enough to verify if you open the MDB file(s) for messages and check the "scecure" column for any checked.

From your selective log file grab there (which I assume is from the export) it looks like there's a problem exporting the secure messages - I'd need to see the entire log to do much with it... off hand it looks like you didn't provide a valid password for encrypted messages but it's hard to say.

hi , may i send the log file direct to your email address as it contains customer user information - lindborg@cisco.com (i think)
