Need info about cupc 8.x at remote campuses over wan connection.
Will the cupc 8.x client work when the router failsover into SRST?
The cups server is at the main campus with the call mgrs.

No, CUPC requires CUPS to work and is not supported in SRST.

Thanks, guessed as much.
However, if I have them set up with an IP Communicator, will this work while under the SRST mode?
It would only need to be started during a wan outage, once they have the all clear they could then log into the cupc.
I also have proved that the cupc client can control the IP Communicator, which is great if they need to have line appearances.

Yes, IPC would work under SRST.
As any other phone it needs to be connected to CUCM before it can fail to SRST, you cannot start it once SRST kicks in.

This appears to now be supported at least with CUPC 8.5. You will have to configure SIP SRST which is in additiona to SCCP SRST if you have SCCP hard phones in the network. There is also come caveats such as if you have an SCCP phone and a SIP phone (CUPC) registering to SRST inbound calls will only ring to the SCCP phone as shared line is not supported between SIP/SCCP phones.

If you have Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) set up in your Cisco Unified Communication system, you can continue to place and receive calls during a system failure. In these circumstances, the Cisco Unified Personal Communicator uses shared lines to enable you to continue to place and receive calls.
Cisco Unified SRST does not support shared lines with SIP phones. Cisco Unified Personal Communicator receives only alternate calls if both of the following conditions occur:
•Cisco Unified Personal Communicator is set to use your computer for phone calls.
•Cisco Unified Personal Communicator has the same directory number as a SIP desk phone.
However, the desk phone receives all calls.
