Hello everyone. When creating a RAID 6 array on a C210 M2 equipped with an LSI 9261-8i HBA, is it possible to select which physical hard drives you want to be used for parity?

Many thanks!

Greetings.

Raid 6, you can loose any 2 disks, and still remain online because parity is split over all disks.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Thank you for replying, Kirk.

I was under the impression only certain disks were used for parity, not all of them.

Good to know!

You are likely thinking of Raid 4, which is not used much, which has a specific disk member dedicated for parity.

Thanks,

Kirk...
