Have a UCS C240 server with 2 cisco hbas in PCI slots.   When I look in CIMC, I see the HBAs listed under the Inventory,  but they are not showing up in the Storage tab, or under the Storage option.   Has anyone seen this before ?  We have other servers that are shwoing properly.

If the HBAs are not showing up in the Storage tab or under the Storage option in your UCS C240 server's CIMC interface, there could be a few reasons behind this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you identify and resolve the problem:

1. Verify that the HBAs are properly seated in the PCI slots. Power off the server, reseat the HBAs, and then power the server back on to see if the issue is resolved.

2. Check the firmware and driver versions of the HBAs. Incompatible or outdated firmware and drivers can cause the HBAs to not be detected properly. Ensure that you have installed the latest firmware and drivers recommended by Cisco for your UCS C240 server model and the specific HBA models.

3. Verify that the server's BIOS settings are configured correctly to recognize the installed HBAs. Access the server's BIOS during boot-up and ensure that the PCI slots with the HBAs installed are enabled and configured correctly.

4. If you are using a Cisco UCS Manager to manage your UCS C240 server, make sure the server's service profile is correctly configured to recognize the installed HBAs. Check the vHBA templates and storage policies assigned to the service profile to ensure they are properly set up for your server's configuration.

5. Inspect the server's logs for any error messages or warnings related to the HBAs. These log entries can provide valuable information on the root cause of the issue and help you determine the appropriate corrective action.

6. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that one or both of the HBAs are faulty. Try swapping the HBAs with known working units from another server or contact Cisco Technical Support for further assistance.

Remember to always backup your configurations and follow proper safety procedures when working with server hardware.
