I know it's 24 mailboxes, but we have a client who has 15 users, but only 3 or 4 are ever in the office. How do you setup the other users so they have an extension and it just goes to VM? In other words, they're not going to hang 15 phones out there for users who aren't ever in.

Hi Joseph,

You can setup the users who don't have physical phones. For example, extension 101 for Mary Smith. You can leave her voice message by dialing 7101. Mary can retrieve her voice messages by dialing into voice mail pilot number 395. If she never comes to the office and only is going to retrieve her voice message externally, you can route an inbound call route to extension 395. If that's an issue for you, she can call some one at the office and get that person to transfer her call to extension 395.

Hope it helps!

Regards,

Wendy

Thanks, Wenjin. So the bottom line is anyone dialing in would need to hit 7- to leave them a voicemail. hitting their extension now (without a phone) rings busy. How would I do a route to automatically have anyone without a phone go direct to voicemail?

Hi Joseph,

You may want to set an inbound call route to voice mail pilot extension 395 through either FXO line or SIP trunk at Inbound Calls page. So that anyone who doesn't have a phone can call from pstn to 395 to check his/her voice messages.

Best regards,

Wendy

They get their voicemail fine in email attachements. The issue is anyone calling in and dialing an extension that doesn't have a phone gets a busy signal. So right now when someone calls in for Mary at extension 101 and she doesn't have a phone it rings busy. What I want it to do is anyone without a phone (mary at 101) then their extension would go right into their voicemail greeting so the caller can leave a voicemail message.

Hi Joseph,

Yes, you will get busy reorder tone if dialing extension 101 since this extension doesn't have a physical phone. If anyone wants to leave voice message to Mary, he/she must dial 7101 to get to Mary's voice mail box. There is no any other workaround.

Best regards,

Wenjin
