Hello,
I am trying to set a few phones to use G729r8 on our UC560, but each time they make a call and I check the phone status page I can see that they are using G711u still...
How do I force these phones to "Only" use G729r8....
I have enabled the codec on the CCA under the phone settings, and checked that in the CLI I have "codec g722-64 dspfarm-assist" on the ePhone
I have also checked my "Voice Class Codec"
voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711ulaw
codec preference 2 g729r8
Does anyone have any advice?

Is this call internally e.g. over a VPN or externally?
If externally check the applicable codec settings on the outbound dial peer.

Voice Classes are applied to dial peers and you listed the codec preference backwards.
The g.711 codec will provide you with better voice quality than g.729 because of it sampling rate and lack of compression. The compression will also make more use of your processor.
To make the change you are requesting, you would need to change the codec under the ephone template. g711 is the default codec used.
