SAP 525G on a SRP527W

As I had no luck with the 7965, wondering if this unit - SPA 525G is supported on the SRP-527W modem router.

Please note: for the helpful soul who replied to other post, this is NOT a 3rd party system...

You need to configure the SPA to talk to your SIP provider, it can't proxy through the SRP. The SRP is just a router that happens to have some analogue ports.

There is nothing special about the SRP - should work just fine. What PBX are you using?

Hi Steve,

no PBX...

just a single IP phone test to the SRP.

at least trying to get a single IP phone to the SRP...

direct connect

SRP SIP(Voice) module registers with SIP provider.

DHCP works.

VLAN 100 use for voice (default)

phone receives address from SRP correctly,

Network status shows SRP as gateway and the IP address of the public address of the router/modem

just never gets past the final initialise.

Trying to test a SOHO type solution, as my UC560 is a tad over the top for a one or 2 person office? even a low end 3xx is  over the top... and for those who have to use wireless broadband, why buy a 2nd box when the SRP does it anyway? (if it works...)

Thanks Steve - you would never know reading the doco on it... Seems weird though? There is a protocol conversion happening from SIP to analog in the SRP, but it cannot re-direct a straight SIP data stream? In essence it is the same as those early ATA routers Netgear (and others) brought out 6-7 years ago.
