UC520 Vitelity.net configuration

You guys have probably seen this thousands of times, but I cannot seem to figure it out.

I have an account at vitelity.net and I am trying to setup the trunk on my UC520. the UC520 is connected directly to the internet (i.e. dynamic ip with no firewall). No matter what I do I cannot get an inbound call but I can call outbound all day. When I attempt to call the number I get an immediate busy signal.

I'm new to voice. Feel free to ask for any logs you desire.

Hello,

Without more information, my guess would be that your provider is rejecting the call, because they don't recognize or allow the caller ID number you are using.

You need to have a translation rule in place to change your outgoing caller ID to your incoming phone number.

If you are using CCA:

Configure > Telephony > Dial Plan > Outgoing -  then go to the "Caller ID" tab at the top.

If you are using CLI:

You will need to apply a tranlation rule to your outgoing dial-peers to translate the "calling" number to your phone number.

The other possibility is that your provider is rejecting the call because it is not coming from an IP address they recognize.  It really depends how your provider is setup.

Thank you,

Darren

The trouble is incoming calls not outgoing. I can call just fine, but I cannot RECEIVE calls.

Sorry, I read that wrong..

Do you have a DID specified for the incoming calls?  Where are they being directed?

Thank you,

Darren

Yes. Maybe I did it incorrectly? I Have a UC520 with 8.6.1 running default config. I ran the wizard and added the discovered phone (201) to the system. I've set my sip trunk good enough to register and call out - I just can't receive calls.

I've set the destination for the DID to the 201 extention. Should I send it to an autoattendant in CCA?

Need more info, please ask.

The only way to know for sure what is happening, is to run a few debugs to see what is happening to the call.

Debugs I would run:

     debug voice ccapi inout

     debug ccsip messages

Thank you,

Darren

before I post the logs, is there anything I should remove from them? I wouldn't want someone to simply get the config and load my credentials for example.

Posting your debugs should not be an issue.

If you are posting your running configuration, there are things that should be removed, or X'd out.

Thank you,

Darren
