Voice Translation Rule and dial peer

Dear All,

I would like create outbound voice translation rule for called number. I want to replace #1 to 91521.

The following is my translation rule:

Voice translation rule 1

Rule 1 /#1/ /91521/

user dial: #123457 translate to 9152123457

I using test voice translation rule to test the translation and it show translation correct.

How do i put the destination pattern in dial peer to make the translation rule work?

Because when user make a call, UC 520 will use dial peer before translation rule.

Hi Spana,

If you upgrade to CCA 3.1 you can make use of the new Call-Back setup process feature that was just recently introduced, this will create the translation rules/profiles and apply them to their appropriate places.

If you are doing this via CLI, you will need to tell us what type of trunks are being used, this will determine to a degree where you apply this rule, but for now it would seem this is something you need to apply to a dial-peer anyway.

Can you confirm if this is also a CLI built system or a CCA built and managed system.

Thank you so much for the reply.

The interface is E1 for PSTN outgoing call. I using CLI to configure the voice translation rule and apply to dial peer.

I would like to seek your assistant, what destination pattern i need to specify in order the translation rule can modified the called number.

Can you please post your running configuration file, please make sure to remove any sensitive data.

When you post this, also provide a complete explination of what it is exactly you want to achieve so I can try and follow the process or methodology of your configuration, it would make it quicker for me to get the gist of things and then put forward some recommendations.

Hi Lum,

OK I understand what you are trying to achieve now... From what I can gather you are wanting to do Toll Bypass, which usually is a reasonably easy thing to do.

Toll Bypass is normally controlled by Dial Peers not translation rule, and it is called and "Over Ride" code and is prefixed to an international Dial-peer, but you can no longer do this with CCA or at least I am unaware of how you do it in CCA with the current version, although I do see ones for Australia in CCA now that are pre-programmed, and if you do it via CLI, CCA may delete this dial-peer or have heart failure when it goes to parse the configuration information.

I am going to book in some time to work this up on a LAB bench and see if there is a way to do this via Translation Rules/Profiles without having to do it via CLI and get CCA to do it so that way the configuration is an approved one...

I will need some time on this, so if urgency is of utmost importance to you then please log a case with SBCS and get the ball rolling with them, otherwise sit tight whilst I try and work out how to do this for you.
