Hi,
I'm interested in how well clients would roam between Cisco Catalyst 9166 and 9120 access points (APs) deployed on the same floor.
In my previous experience, Cisco 2802 and 2702 APs didn't provide seamless roaming. We're planning to replace the 2702s with the newer 9166 model.
On the other hand, user experience with roaming seems to be good between 2702 and 9120 APs, even across floors and buildings.
While I understand it's generally recommended to use the same AP model on a single floor, achieving complete separation can be challenging in our real-world scenario.
Would you be able to advise on the expected roaming experience between 9166 and 9120 APs?
Thanks!

That will depend entire on the firmware of the controller.
Right now, all 9800 firmware is a minefield. The firmware may work with one "family" of APs but complete opposite to another.
Take CSCwj45141, as an example. Not good for 9136/916x but 17.9.4 + SMU 8 but completely OK for 1800.
