Hi

1st AP image AP Running Image : 8.10.130.0:

To join the AP on the WLC 17.6.4 you need to have at least version 8.10.181.0 on the AP.

The 2st AP should join.

i tried changing IOS for 1st AP but still not joining WLC, same goes to 2nd AP

Factory reset the offending AP with the command "capwap ap erase all".

Hi Leo,  tried that option already but both AP's are still failing.

Post the complete output to the following commands:

  1. WLC:  sh sysinfo
  2. WLC:  sh time
  3. AP:  sh version
  4. AP:  sh ip interface brief

1. "Controller 8.10.183.0" - whatever it's trying to join, it is NOT the 9800 running 17.6.4 - make sure you don't have another AireOS WLC or Mobility Express controller running locally.

2. Attach the COMPLETE console log from the AP from power on here as a .txt file

3. Upgrade the WLC to 17.6.5 or 17.9.3.
17.9.3 is now the TAC recommended version as per the TAC recommended link below.
