Cisco WLC 2504 fails to boot

Hello,

We upgrade the WLC 2504 to image 7.4.100.0.

The wlc fails to load the image.

The WLC as no valid image.

Is there a way to load a image to the WLC?

Contact TAC.  They can teach you how to load the firmware.

But before you do that, you need to ensure your firmware is not corrupted.  I am suspecting it is and this is why the upgrade failed.

Hello Omer,

As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-

Press now for Boot Options and choose an option from below:

1. Run primary image (Version 3.2.116.21) (active)

2. Run backup image  (Version 3.2.116.21)

3. Manually upgrade primary image

4. Change active boot image

5. Clear Configuration

Abhishek,

I believe the issue is that there is no image and therefore you can't even get to the boot menu like you have posted. When this occurs, TAC can provide the image and instructions to be able to upload to the WLC. From there, you would be able to then access the boot menu.

hello Scott Fella, and other Cisco Gurus, 

i'm refreshing this old conversation as i'm suffering currently from this issue of controller failed to boot up because of the upgrade process get corrupted, and worst case is the support contract has been expired couple of years ago for my 2504 controller, and i'm using it currently just for my home lab,

guys, can someone help me with the necessary files (RTOS and FP) ?

I can get to the boot menu.

But when I try to load a new image it's not working

Contact Cisco TAC. They can give you a process to load the firmware or they can organize for an RMA
