About PAD of ios17 version

Hello, I'm not good at English, but I'm writing this because I have a question about the iOS 17 version.

I was using iOS 16.9 and updated to 17.9, but the no service pad setting is not visible in the updated running config. Is it because the setting was changed to the default value and is not visible?

The reason I want to check that setting is because of security settings.

There's no "no service pad setting" in iOS. That term is used for network devices like Cisco routers, not iPhones. If you're seeing "No Service" on your iPhone after updating to iOS 17.9, it's a connectivity issue, not a security setting. Try common fixes like toggling Airplane Mode, restarting your iPhone, checking for carrier settings updates, or resetting network settings.  dqfanfeedback

Sorry I didn't write it in the post but this is a question about cisco switch os not iphone

Hello @kangq77,

"no service pad" is the default setting and therefore it is not displayed in the running-config or startup-config like many other default settings.

You can still view this setting to confirm that the service is indeed disabled with the following command:

show running-config all | include pad

As far as I remember Cisco changed the default for this service from "service pad" to "no service pad" with IOS-XE 16.1 or 16.2 in order to improve the standard security settings of their devices.

So the "no service pad" setting was displayed for a long time to make this change visible to all users but now it is no longer shown unless you do a "show run all" as mentioned above.
