VLAN with 2 Switches

Hi,

I'm trying create two VLANs in two diferents Switches but doesn't works.

When I configure dual VLAN in one switch (SG220-26), for example, VLAN 1 in ports GE1 ~ GE12 and VLAN 20 in ports GE13 ~ GE24, it's works very fine... the division of ports are working... but when I do the same configuration in another switch (SG220-26), and link/connect one switch to another, it doesn't works... only works VLAN 1, all another ports in VLAN 20 in Switch 2 are dead... all cables are connected and linked, but doesn't transmit any packet.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hello Marcelo,

Thank you for reaching out to our community! It seems to me that you've been trying to extend sets of VLANs between two switches. Just to eliminate an obvious requirement, but still a common issue for those getting started in basic networking configuration tasks, have you confirmed that the physical connection between those two switches has been configured as "802.1Q trunk"?

If you are trying to extend more than one VLAN from one switch to another across a single physical connection, the associated ports of this connection must be configured as 802.1Q and the desired VLANs must be allowed in this particular trunk.

I'd recommend that you read the following configuration guide (particularly, but not limited to, page 127) to have a better understanding how this is supposed to work: https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/csbss/sf220_sg220/administration/guide/Sx220_AG_en.pdf

In case those ports have already been configured as trunk ports, please share the configuration commands or screenshots so we can take a look at it and review possible misconfigurations.

Regards,
