Just putting this info out there for anyone else having the same issue as I trawled the net for anyone who had the same problem.
I've been doing the packet tracer skills exams online via the academy and for a while myself and others in my class were completing all the tasks and submitting and getting very low scores each time (6%, 14% etc). This was on Chrome, IE and Firefox. We finally figured out that we needed to save the exam first, exit then resume and then submit from this point.
All of the tasks then registered and we got a decent score.
