Is the connection part of any agent lists? If so, try removing it before removing the connection.
If not, it might work if you stop the scheduler and then remove the connection from the database.

Besides getting past the stuck job, is it fixing the issue? When I've seen this happen, it's been an issue on the agent itself and the agent service needed to be restarted. this is different than just disabling the connection.
In my experience this behavior is doe the the launcher process failing on the agent. I've only seen it happen on the Linux agents by the way, so maybe this doesn't apply. But, when it happened the only way to cancel the launched jobs is to stop the a...
