I have two ASA5510's set up in failover, and the secondary keeps crashing after doing the interface checks when bringing failover up. This only happens if I try to upgrade the image on the secondary to anything newer than 8.4.1 (I've tried with 8.4.1...
I forgot to update this thread.Cisco created a TAC case and found a bug in the ASA software. It got fixed in the 8.4(2)-5 release. We have been running on it for 50 days now without any problems.
Hi,We are already running ASA 8.4.1 on the device without any issues. The problem arises when we upgrade it from 8.4.1 to 8.4.1(11) or 8.4.2.I have gathered the crashinfo, and I'm going to open up a TAC case.-Erik
I am in the middle of an upgrade when this problem occured. The documentation clearly state that you can upgrade the secondary, reboot it, promote it to master and then upgrade the primary. There should also be a minor version compatability.
