I just installed the Network Insights Resources App, and with it I've noticed a couple of really strange errors:
Issue #1:
I have a 2 x 1Gbps VPC from a Leaf pair to a pair of interfaces on a Firewall. NIR is telling me the VPC's has exceeded maximum bandwidth capacity. When I look at the VPC, it is indeed going out of control-- something like 4Gbps. But when I look at the individual physical ports, I don't see traffic anywhere near that. Not even more than 10Mbps. When I look at the VPC via snmp/nagios, the actual traffic of the port-channel is small, but it show something like 5 million pps ingress drops. Is this a visual bug?
Issue #2:
I have a 4 x 10Gbps VPC L2-extension from one of my Leaf pairs into an external pair of HP switches. Traffic seems to be just fine, but NIR is telling me there are a lot of QoS related drops. When I check the queues on the switch using the show queue interface eth1/x detail command I see a ton of policy plane drops that are steadily incrementing on just one of the four interfaces in the VPC. What exactly are these policy plane drops?
Thanks,
A
