STUB area L3Out Bridge domain subnet

NDP
Level 1
Level 1

have configured L3Out with OSPF -Stub area

Created Subnet under bridge domain with advertised Externally scope  & Shared Between VRFs

but, Bridge Domain Subnet is not advertised to external router . Cisco team says We need to change the area to NSSA to make it work.

STUB area doesn;t work in cisco ACI? could someone help

Expected.. Stub areas block external Type 5 LSAs. Since a BD subnet is a static route, it will be redistributed into OSPF therefore from OSPF perspective this is an external route.

Thanks . I somehow got chance to test this in LAB. It worked only in NSSA area. And, OSPF Stub area is working only when ACI fabric becomes a Transit between two different Networks/Areas.

I believe that Data Center network environment should be totally STUB area :- expecting only default route as Data center ideally have only one exit for external world. We do not expect Data center networks to redistribute any other external routes or Data center Fabric should not be a transit between two different networks.

Not sure why Cisco had provided this configuration feature in this case :-)
