ACE HTTP Probe with IWA

Hi All

Currently we are using an ACE 4710 to do load balancing for an applications on IIS. The application is configured to use Integrated Windows Authentication. I am having some issues on monitoring the services, as the return code will always be 401 (Unauthorized) no matter the application is functioning or not (the IIS is still running) . Know from the old post that the ACE only supports basic authentication not IWA, is there a work around to monitor the application?

Hi,

The ACE supports basic Authentication in the probe configuration. However, there is no support for other authentication types such as IWA.

One solution, that we have seen in the past is to create a test-only useraccount which has only access to a single page to determine if the app is up or down.  Then the ACE uses no authentication, or Basic Authentication to check just this one page.
