Active/Backup configuration questions

Can I use active/backup redundancy option when I have my backend servers in two locations with a layer2 switch between them?

If so, where can I find good examples for this configuration.

Are you talking about CSS or CSM ?

You should be able to do active/backup anytime.

The fact that the servers are in 2 different location is not a big deal.

What is more important is where do you place your loadbalancers ? How do you connect it to your servers ?

There will be a switch between the two CSS load balancers which will also be in different buildings.
