Hi,
I have the following situation :
- CSS1 and CSS2 with VIP redundancy
- CSS1 is the master, CSS2 is the backup for the VIP
- Arrowpoint-cookie is used for stickyness
- Six services defined in the configuration
In case of fail-over to CSS2, I would like to know if the user will still stick to the same server ?
I know that the CSS checks the cookie for format validity before selecting the server. What will happen with the second CSS when taking over ? I have some concerns because the first part of an ArrowPoint cookie is a box-specific character string and maybe the CSS2 won't validate the cookie...
Thank you for any advice,
Yves

It's not clear from the documentation whether or not the "box" portion of the Arrowpoint cookie is used. I will set this up in the lab tomorrow and see what happens. More to come ...

Thank you in advance to take the time testing it !

I answered Yves on another discussion but just so everybody is aware of the answer here it is again.
The arrowpoint cookie will work on the standby device.
Even if the box identifier is from the other CSS.
Gilles.
