Hi all,
I haven't been able to find any info on this. Is it possible to move the CM to a different IP address (datacentre), and simply update existing accelerators with central-manager address x.x.x.x ? Or is it more complicated than that, maybe deregistering and registering again.
Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
If you don't have a standby CM and want to move the primary CM to a different datacente and hence the change in IP, you got to deregister and register the applications accelerators.
This is why it is always advisable to use configure the central manager address using hostname instead of IP Address.

Thanks Kiran. I guess the follow up question is if the same deregister/register process is needed if changing from IP address to hostname (but keeping the CM where it is with the same IP address). That way, I could change all devices to use the hostname first, and then simply move the CM once that is complete.
Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Yes this should work. By using the hostname, you can change the WAAS Central Manager’s IP address and you do not need to unregister and reregister all of the WAEs.You only need to change the WAAS Central Manager’s IP address in the DNS table for the WAEs to remain registered with the same WAAS Central Manager.

Kiran.
