press escape at the beginning of the boot to try to enter diag mode.

Follow the instruction for password recovery to erase nvram and see if it does help.

Otherwise, there is nothing much you can do.

I have tried to get into the diag mode, while plugged into the diag and console from the from by pressing ecs at the beginning, but it just doesn't seem to be letting me in. What is the problem exactly? What steps should I take once in diag mode if I can get in? Thanks for your help
