CSM issue with multiple VLANs

Hello,

We have a problem using the CSM with multiple server vlans. We had a vlan 202 and were running the CSM in "one armed" design with 202 declared as server vlan with default route pointing to the HSRP address of the router on this VLAN.

As we ran short of IP addresses, we added another vlan 212 and declared it as a server vlan as well. Now the problem we have is that if the VIP is on VLAN 212 and the serverfarm is on VLAN 202 we have to add in the CSM VLAN 212 virtual interface a host route, pointing to each server in the serverfarm. Otherwise, we see client traffic hitting the CSM on VLAN 212 but no session is established by the CSM to the servers on VLAN 202. It looks like there is no communication possible between the 2 vlans WITHIN the CSM.

Based on this situation, I have a few questions:

1. Is this the normal behaviour of the CSM?

2. According to Cisco documentation, I should be able to configure a client-server scenario reflecting this situation. The attached layout depicts the situation.

3. We would need the flexibility of putting both servers and VIPs on the both VLAN 202 and 212. Would that be possible if one vlan is declared as client?

Thanks for any help offered.

Regards,

Murtaza

Murtaza,

you SE came to us already for this.

This is not normal behavior.

We will need your full config to understand what is going on.

Gilles.
