Hi all
I have a question on IOS SLB on the 6500. The 6500 in question is not functioning as a layer 3 device at the moment and the only l3 interface configured on it is for management.Given this fact ,can IOS SLB be configured on this 6500 or does both the real ip vlan and the virtual ip vlan require l3 interfaces in order for it to function. If so is it possible to have the layer 3 functionality running on a 7200 trunked to the 6500?
Thanks in advance

Yes, you are correct. The real ip vlan and the virtual ip vlan require l3 interfaces in order for it to function.

Thanks. But can I offload the layer3 interfaces to a 7200 for example?....The 6500 needs to be kept layer 2.
Cheers
