If you have a CSS 11000 series switch and lose the license key necessary to setup the box, the following steps will
guide you through the process of
obtaining a new license key.
Procedure
Either if you are setting up the CSS for the first time or if you are reinstalling the CSS and have misplaced or lost the
license key neccesary to access the box, please
follow the following steps to be issued a new license key:
1) Gather serial numbers from all CSSs that require a new license to be issued.
2) If possible find the Purchase Order from the original sale of the equipment
3) Compose an email to licensing@cisco.com with the following info:
a) Model number of the CSS 11000s (example: CSS-11154-AC)
b) Serial Number from all CSS 11000s that require a new license key to be issued
c) If possible the original Purchase Order / Sales Order number
Once you have the above send the email on to licensing@cisco.com and you should be issued new licenses shortly.
