SSM loadbalancing with CSM

Is it possible to use a CSM in one 6500 chassis to load-balance SSMs in multiple chassis? Or, can you only load-balance SSMs in the same chassis?

You can load balance SSL modules in multiple chassis. It is common to have redundant CSMs and redundant SSL Modules, each in both chassis. In that case the master CSM is load balancing to SSL Modules in both chassis.
