                   I have been told there is  "debug plugin" that will allow me to clear out the directory that is being filled by this bug. I cannot upgrade the software at the moment and the only outage I can afford is a quick reboot.  Can anyone tell me more about these "debug plugin"s and where I can find them?

You should probably work directly with the TAC.  My understanding is that there are some low level commands that can be used, but can cause serious grief if misued.  Best to do such delicate work hand in hand with TAC.  You might also ask in the LAN Switching community.
