Hi
Using Jabber for Windows version 10.5.0 Build 37889 with CUPS, System version: 9.1.1.41900-1 the desktop sharing is not working when we use instant messaging. The button "Desktop Sharing" is grey.
But when we start a phone call with Jabber, the desktop sharing is fully operationnal.
Regarding this BugID, it should be solved using Jabber 10.5..
Do you have any ideas?
Many Thanks

Hi,
You are right, Cisco Jabber for Windows 10.5 enables to share desktop without use of BFCP, so it does not require an active call.
However it is true only if you share desktop between Cisco Jabber for Windows 10.5 clients.
If you try to share desktop with a user on pre 10.5 Cisco Jabber for Windows client then it will use the old method and it will require an active call and it uses BFCP.

Andrzej

Desktop sharing uses similar functionality as the video calling, therefore it requires a call to be active between the participants, and BFCP to be enabled. There are a couple other gotchas listed on this page:

Hi and thanks for confirmation.
But we used to do the tests with 10.5.0 on both side on windows as I remember.
We have upgraded to 10.5.2, and it's now perfectly working!
Thanks
