Are there any limitations with Cisco modeling labs?

I see there is a 20 or 40 node limit depending on what you buy. But could I potentially run something very resource intensive, like 40 FTDs? Like is there a limit to resources? Or is this something I install locally on a server and it all depends on what our server can handle?

Is there a better option for cisco that doesnt involve us setting up something local? Some type of virtual lab i can setup online? Even if it is something we have to pay for?

Yes, there are limits regarding number of devices u can run at the same time which depends on CML version u got and your machine CPU / RAM / Storage resources will limit you as well; CML Personal version lets u use upto 20 Cisco devices (non-Cisco should not count).  Re machine resources; well, CML version does not speicify the Max of resources but has list of the Minimum resources u need per type of images. u can see list of this in CML DOc - link attached
