I've been using the DCNM SAN Client for many years to manage our old MDS9000 equipment. We now have MDS9148S switches which have replaced them. I can manage the old and new switches via the old DCNM SAN Client.
All I use it for is to modify zones and check for ports that may be down. I do not require a full blown management/monitoring solution. For this, DCNM was (and still is) perfect however we want to get away from using Java and DCNM uses Java.
I understand that NDFC has replaced DCNM but I'm struggling to identify what I need to install to just replace the DCNM SAN client, which doesn't require advanced licensing.
Could someone teach an old dog a new trick please.
