Request Approval task email

Should the request approval task send an email or notify that a task is waiting for approval or do I need to build this in and send the email as part of the automation? If not, is there a way to use the output of the approval task to trigger a send email task using "assignees", "due_date", and "task_id"?

Could I allow direct approval from the email (link) or would I need to build an email automation?

Hello Jeff, the notification sould be occurring automatically. This is an issue that is being worked and will be production ASAP. A workaround as you propose is a good temp solution until this is enabled.

@Jeff Orr , once the fix Mike mentioned is in place, the e-mail will have the direct link for the User Tasks/Approvals.

Thanks for the update. I ended up creating a parallel block which gives me a way to notify while approval is pending, but I am stuck on making a direct link. For now I just include details of the request and a dashboard link. It would be nice to direct link or able to process by email reply.

@Jeff Orr I'll pass that along to the product manager.  We do have some improvements planned for the Approval Task.  Also, please feel free to use the "Give your feedback" button at the bottom of any page in the Automation area. Anything you submit there goes directly to the product team.
