Hello,

I hope you are well, I have a problem with a new switch Cisco Catalyst 2960x, it does not start, after checking the “Rommon” mode, there are no existing files, now I try to make a test, I want to copy these files from the other switch that works well to the one that is damaged.

Could you tell me how I can do this?

Thanks in advance.

Open the lid and post the picture of the motherboard of the switch.

I want to see if this switch is counterfeit.

@Leo LaohooI've run a copy xmodem with old version of IOS, do you want me to try this IOS before taking the picture of the motherboard or I cancel it?

xmodem?

Look at the front of the switch.  There is a USB slot and it is faster than xmodem by a wide margin.

Pop the lid of the switch and post the picture of the motherboard.  I have a strange feeling the switch is counterfeit.

Switch is counterfeit.  (Read THIS.  There are pictures in this thread which will be useful.)

Lift out the motherboard and see if there is a "daughterboard" suspended by two or four wires.

Please reach out to the Cisco Counterfeit Protection team because they want to determine WHO supplied the fake merchandise.

If this is indeed counterfeit, the Cisco firmware will brick the daughterboard to the extent that the daughterboard will no longer be able to compute the software integrity.

I didn't find daughterboard in the motherboards of the switch

Counterfeit switches will pass the serial number check because someone from the factory supplied the gang with legitimate 2960X serial numbers (including component serial numbers).

Damn it!

Thanks @Leo Laohoo -- The best part of this operation are the serial numbers because they will show up in the Cisco Device Coverage Checker as valid so buyers will not doubt their "authenticity".  Until they attempt to upgrade the IOS. Raise a TAC Case and organize for an RMA of the switch.
