AS400 file dependency

I  am trying to create a file dependency for an AS400 file, but hitting a roadblock.   When I create a file dependency step I cannot select the AS400 connection as an option in the Agent drop down.  My options are the windows agents, but these agents are not associated with the AS400 credentials needed to connection.

How do I allow the file dependency to associate with the AS400 connection?

I did find a workaround, but I have to believe there is a cleaner way then this.  In the agent window for creating the file dependency I typed in the name of the AS400 agent instead of using the selections in the drop down.  When I saved this the dependency shows the agent name as blank and the agent field also shows blank when in edit mode.

When I tested it the dependency worked, but it seems more like a lucky hack then a designed method.
